About XTORO

XTORO® is a prescription antibacterial ear drop for the treatment of acute otitis externa, commonly known as swimmer’s ear. Acute otitis externa is an infection of the external ear canal that can cause ear pain, tenderness, swelling, redness, and discharge.

XTORO contains finafloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antimicrobial. In clinical studies, XTORO was evaluated in patients with acute otitis externa and demonstrated clinical and microbiological outcomes superior to vehicle, as well as a shorter median time to cessation of ear pain. The full prescribing information reports median time to cessation of ear pain of 3.5 days for XTORO-treated pathogen-positive patients compared with 6.8 days for vehicle.

XTORO is for topical otic use only.
